It all started when…

Resourceful is my middle name. I live by the motto, if there is a will there is a way. After graduating from film school, I moved to Los Angeles, CA to produce television and was able to work on large network reality TV shows. Inquisitive by nature, I enjoyed meeting a myriad of personalities and honing my interviewing skills. After seven years of working in the entertainment industry I was ready for a change. I returned home to New Orleans to run operations for a real estate and property management company. During my time at Toledano Properties, I restructured the company’s financials, revamped internal operations, and increased net profits by an average of 65 percent over five years. I implemented a new vision and strategic growth plan, handled insurance claims, and negotiated contracts. Together with my team, we created a more efficient workflow, employed new software and systems, and identified new market opportunities.

I’ve held previous roles in various industries: finance, human resources, legal, recruiting, and wellness. I excel at revamping and simplifying processes so systems can run more smoothly. Once I understand a company's existing systems, I work to gain the support and trust of the team and improve on their productivity and level of success.

A few years ago, I went through a personal life change - a divorce. I handled my business matters and then set out to fulfill a lifelong dream. When I started my first “real” job I opened a bank account I called the Travel the World Fund. My goal was to save $30K to do just that, travel the world. Proud of myself for how quickly I was able to accumulate these savings, but initially too nervous to go alone, I told myself I would wait until I found the perfect partner to travel with me. When that partner never materialized, I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I downsized my belongings, purchased a backpack and a one-way ticket to Europe, and I was off SOLO for almost nine months, traveling to many different countries, one ticket at a time! There is a reason life throws you curve balls. By navigating through them, you get to learn about yourself.

In my lifetime I have been to more than 40 countries thus far! I used to be that girl that had all the stuff, everything had to be perfect and perfectly matched. This journey was a HUGE step for me and completely liberating. I made a commitment to do anything that scared me or sounded exciting. I went paragliding, volunteered on a liveaboard on the Great Barrier Reef, traveled in a van with four complete strangers for six days, camped out of a car for one month in Australia and Tasmania, sailed on a private 90-foot yacht off the coasts of France and Italy, practiced yoga in Bali, couchsurfed, and learned how to scuba dive. I even ended up getting my SSI advanced diver certification and completed my 50th dive less than two years later. I feel beyond fortunate to have had these experiences and I knew that when I returned home my life had to be different. I earned a yoga instructor certification, started my own business and married the man of my dreams!

Better with Becker is the culmination of all the skills that bring me joy. As a life strategist and confidence coach, I believe in living OUTSIDE of your comfort zone and knocking down walls to create new horizons. I am action and activity oriented. When I am passionate and curious about something, I see it through. This translates into the various career paths I have taken. It is now my purpose to help people and businesses hone in on their unique skill sets to BETTER themselves and their businesses.
